Why?  Review vocabulary/ minimal pairs

How?

Teacher asks students to sit 1 – 1 opposite one another at a table/ desk with their hands behind their backs/ heads

Teacher places a board marker  ( or any similar object)in the middle of the desk.

Teacher writes a sentence on the board/ or uses one in the book/ worksheet,. reads a list of words  – one of them is the correct word. The two students race to grab the board marker. to answer. The first one to grab the board marker has the right to answer and gets a point if correct.

Game can easily be adapted to allow variations depending on context and age group.
